| The Abbey founded in 1228 and completed in 1235 is an impressive symbol of the French abbeys of the Middle Age. Occupied by members of the Cistercian order, it was richly endowed by the kings, Saint-Louis and his successors, which explains the size and beauty of the buildings. In 1978 the abbey was assigned a new cultural mission to ensure its preservation (concerts, lectures, training seminars, exhibitions, literary center and ethnology center). | ||
