Saint-Germain-des-Près

Snuggled around one of the oldest Parisian churches, this district, loved by Parisians, is a haven of peace, of luxury, and an inspirational place for the aesthete and for lovers.
Saint Germain des Prés is the French Parisian's Soho, one gets lost very easily and with delight in these narrow streets. Antique dealers, clothing designers, speciality shops, & publishers seem to have gathered together to compel us to converge towards them, and discover the treasure they offer for the asking. While on the Boulevard St Germain one finds the majestic and imposing establishments as well known as the people who frequented them. They are of course Le Café Flore, Lipp & Les deux Magots; these establishments are in a way the world's centre of a French philosophy and literature of the middle of the last century.
But the soul of St Germain des Prés is also the smoke filled night-clubs, where at night fall, the post World War II youth, used to come to enjoy dancing the wild and frenzy rhythms of that era.
